Being a queer person can feel like discovering a secret garden within yourself – a vibrant, authentic world that’s uniquely yours, even when the outside world doesn’t always understand or welcome it. At times, it’s like standing in the rain, exposed and vulnerable, searching for shelter but knowing that your true strength lies in your openness. It’s the beauty of a patchwork quilt, stitched together with threads of pride, love, and resilience, yet often carrying the weight of others’ expectations or rejection. In its fullness, it’s a journey of reclaiming your voice, finding your community, and letting your light shine unapologetically in a world that’s brighter because you’re in it.

·        You’re ready to live more authentically and let go of others’ perceptions of you.

·        You deserve to feel understood and validated in your whole self.

·        You’re ready to confront the trauma that keeps resurfacing so you can finally move forward

·        You’re motivated to finding a path forward that enables you to reach your goals.

·        You’re seeking to stop the negative self-talk and adopt a kinder inner voice.

·        You’re determined to prioritize yourself and foster joyous connections.

Together, we will explore your identity in it’s fullness and what it means to you to show the world your vibrance. We will work to build skills to heal and find meaningful connections in a compassionate and non-judgmental space designed to support your journey. Together, we will work to tailor our sessions to your unique experiences and personal goals, focusing on managing and alleviating your anxiety.

You don’t have to do this alone

How LGBTQIA+ Therapy Works

Therapy, whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or challenges specific to your experiences as a queer human, involves a supportive and collaborative process aimed at exploring and addressing the underlying issues contributing to your struggles. Our sessions will provide a safe and non-judgmental space to express your feelings, thoughts, and experiences openly and unapologetically.

Together, we will work to gain insight into the origins of your self-doubt and feelings of not belonging. This may involve exploring past experiences, family dynamics, societal influences, or cultural factors that have shaped your sense of self.

I use an integrative approach to create a tailored-made and person-centered approach as I believe that therapy cannot, and should not, be a one-size-fits-all approach. Each client brings a unique perspective and unique insights into the therapy space and you’re deserving of being seen as an individual in this and all spaces. I seek to help clients challenge negative beliefs, develop self-compassion, and cultivate a more positive self-image. We will explore the meaning of connection and community to you and explore ways to assist you in finding the community that fosters growth and celebrates diversity.

Validation of your unique experiences is the foundation of every session. Mindfulness practices, cognitive-behavioral techniques, narrative reframing, and self-compassion exercises can help you identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.

In addition, we may focus on building skills for enhancing self-esteem, setting boundaries, and improving communication in relationships. You will learn strategies for assertiveness, self-care, and cultivating supportive social networks that align with your value and foster a sense of belonging.

Therapy can provide you with the tools, support, and guidance needed to navigate your struggles with self-acceptance and belonging, leading to greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and overall well-being. The therapeutic journey is personalized to each client’s unique needs and goals, with the ultimate aim of promoting self-empowerment and fostering a deeper sense of connection and fulfillment in life.

Your life doesn’t look the way you want it to.
