Living with the weight of trauma can feel like carrying an invisible backpack filled with stone - each one a representation of the pain, fear, or memories that feel too heavy to unpack. You might find yourself constantly looking over your shoulder, bracing for what might come next, even when you’re in a safe space. It’s like walking through a fog, where joy, connection, and even a sense of self can feel just out of reach. But, what if you could begin to lighten that load, step out of the fog, and reclaim your life?

Imagine what could change:

  • Feeling safe in your own body for the first time in a long time.

  • Breaking free from intrusive thoughts that keep you stuck in the past.

  • Reconnecting with loved ones without the shadow of fear or mistrust.

  • Rediscovering joy and purpose, no longer defined by what happened to you.

  • Relearning to trust yourself without the nagging voice of self-doubt.

Change begins with a single step, and trauma therapy offers you the tools and support to take that step. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to carry this alone anymore.

Take charge of your life.

How Trauma Therapy Works

Your life doesn’t look the way you want it to.

Trauma therapy is a process that’s all about helping you feel safe, supported, and in control as you work through the impact of what you’re experienced. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you - there’s no rush or pressure to dive into things before you’re ready. Together, we’ll explore how the trauma has affected you, whether that’s through overwhelming emotions, difficulty trusting others, or feeling stuck in certain patterns.

A big part of the process is building tools to help you feel grounded and empowered, so you can manage any triggers or distressing memories that come up. As we move forward, we’ll use strategies to gently process the trauma in a way that helps reduce its emotional charge and allows you to make sense of it. This might involve talking, visualization, mindfulness, or other approaches tailored to what works best for you.

Ultimately, trauma therapy is about giving you the space to heal, reconnect with yourself, and create a life that feels lighter, more balanced, and aligned with who you truly are. You’re in the driver’s seat, and I’m here to support and guide you every step of the way.

  • I have experience supporting clients who have experienced a wide range of trauma experiences, including religious, childhood abuse and neglect, generational, domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse, grief, medical trauma, PTSD, and gang violence.

  • When clients want to engage with trauma work, I ask them to bring with them to session some water, maybe a snack, be in a place where they feel safe and is private, and I ask them periodically to check in with their body and to tell me when our pace feels too fast. We do checks in before ending session to make sure they are in a place to safely end.

  • Absolutely not. Therapy moves at your pace.

  • Unfortunately, no, therapy cannot erase your experiences. Therapy can help you make sense of your experiences in some circumstances, and will help you build coping strategies to make the trauma feel like it’s controlling you.

  • Trauma isn’t actually about the incident itself, but rather in the overwhelm of our resources as a response to an incident, and your experiences cannot be compared to anyone else’s.
